Discount Rims

The rims on your vehicle are important when it comes to the safety and handling of the vehicle, but replacing them can be expensive. Fortunately, there are discount rims on the market that are worth a second look before you go out and purchase an expensive set of custom rims.

When shopping for discount rims, keep one thing in mind. If a price is too good to be true, it likely is. And while you want to save money, you do not want your car and your tires riding on inferior rims. Examine discount rims thoroughly before buying, looking for weak spots, cracks or other defects. You are looking for any defect that might cause the tire to be unable to seal with the rim. Never buy discount rims from any store or retailer that does not offer a return policy in case you ultimately decide to return the rims for any reason.

Where to Find Discount Rims

You can typically find discount rims at:

  • Auto parts stores. Many auto parts stores stock a variety of lower cost discount rims among their inventory. You can also find occasional sales on rims at stores that carry auto parts, especially on scratch and dent rims that have minor imperfections.
  • Salvage yards or junk yards. Oftentimes a salvage yard or junk yard will get a car in that has been wrecked but still has quality rims. These types of deals are harder to find but they are out there, so don’t overlook finding discount rims at the local salvage yard.
  • On the Internet. Online retailers are often able to offer rims at a much lower price than you would find in a brick-and-mortar business. Again, check their return policy because you will not be able to inspect the discount rims in person.
