Car Wax

Waxing your car may be hard work, but the results are worth it! Car wax keeps your car looking new and also works to preserve your expensive paint job by slowing down the oxidation process and forming a tough barrier against nasty irritants on the road, like bird droppings, salt, pollution, and other unmentionables. What’s more, driving a car that has a fresh, shiny coat of car wax is just more fun than driving a dirty, unpolished car. The following tips will help you to ensure the maximum protection from your car wax job:

  • While spray or liquid wax can do a good job, and they are very tempting to use because they require less elbow grease, effort, and time than traditional car wax, which is the pasty type of wax that must be rubbed in by hand. For the longest-lasting, hardest and most durable finish, however, paste car wax wins hands down. When choosing paste-type car waxes, always look for one that has high carnauba wax content for the best performance and longevity.
  • When applying car wax, always use a thin but even coat of wax, applied to the surface of the car using a soft, damp sponge that is sold specifically for the purpose of applying wax. Be sure not to apply too much wax as it will be very difficult to remove and some of the wax residue may invariably end up marring the finish of your car.
  • Once the wax has dried, you must choose a clean, soft microfiber or cotton cloth to remove it, or you will end up with a ton of fine scratches.
  • Pay extra attention to the hood and nose of your car. The car wax film in these areas of the car tends to wear away more quickly, which takes away from the overall look of your wax job.
